The Economy

Proceeding contribution from John Stevenson (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 6 December 2011. It occurred during Debate on The Economy.
I completely agree. Growth is not in Europe but elsewhere in the world, and we should try to increase our trade with the BRIC countries. We need to look at those new markets and rediscover our trading instincts. I accept that our concern is primarily the state of the economy here and now and in the next 12 months. However, we need to remember to raise our eyes above the horizon and think about what kind of economy we aspire to in five or 10 years' time, and how we will create it.
