Eurozone Crisis

Proceeding contribution from Lord Lea of Crondall (Labour) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 1 December 2011. It occurred during Debate on Eurozone Crisis.
Someone did. I apologise to the noble Lord, Lord Lawson. I know that the noble Lord, Lord Lamont, is not interested in democracy. I know that the noble Lord, Lord Lawson, is. Surely it is lazy thinking just to kick around the word ““democracy””. I want to know the answer to the following questions. Who elected the people who control British capitalism? Who elected the merchant banks? Who elected the hedge fund strategies? I think that noble Lords have got my drift.
