Loans to Ireland Bill

That is an interesting question, as my hon. Friend the Deputy Leader of the House knows because he also recently asked it. I draw the attention of my hon. Friend the Member for Wellingborough (Mr Bone) to clause 1(2), which defines an ““Irish loan”” as"““a loan to Ireland by the United Kingdom.””" Of course the United Kingdom includes Northern Ireland. Therefore, the loan is clearly to what one technically might describe as the Republic of Ireland. I am grateful to my hon. Friend for raising that point, in order to enable me to put that clarification on the record. Question put and agreed to. Clause 3 accordingly ordered to stand part of the Bill. The Deputy Speaker resumed the Chair. Bill, as amended, reported. Third Reading
