Independent Retailers

Proceeding contribution from Justin Tomlinson (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 24 November 2010. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Independent Retailers.
Thank you, Mr Weir; I will be on time. I congratulate my hon. and learned Friend the Member for Torridge and West Devon (Mr Cox) on securing this excellent debate. It has captured the interest of so many hon. Members both because of the subject and because of his engaging delivery. I am a big fan of small shops, for a number of reasons. First, I am the vice-chair of the all-party group on small shops and I am a member of the all-party retail group. I also come from a family of small business shop owners. I have many happy memories of growing up in the back of my parents' wool shop, which was very handy in these colder days.
