Football Clubs (Governance)

A starting point would be to follow through with the seven questions put to the football authorities. People have talked about the ““fit and proper person”” test, but there are three tests and those need to be reduced to a single one on transparency. My hon. Friend made a good suggestion about the all-party group's continuing to consider this matter, because that will help the Minister. One frustrating thing about being Minister for Sport—the best job in Government—is the amount of time that dealing with football takes. It is helpful for the all-party group to be involved and to continue the discussion on the issues raised this morning. I will stop at that point, because right hon. and hon. Members want to hear what the Minister has to say.
