Personal Care at Home Bill

Proceeding contribution from Earl Howe (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 17 March 2010. It occurred during Debate on bills on Personal Care at Home Bill.
My Lords, I thank all noble Lords who have spoken in the debate and in particular the Minister for his reply. I am a little disappointed. I had hoped that the deafblind community might be able to take from this debate a greater degree of hope and comfort. It is reassuring that the Government have re-emphasised in guidance the importance of recognising the gravity of this disability but it does not appear that there is much scope for making particular allowance for it in the scheme that we are debating. That is, to put it mildly, a pity. However, I do not propose to pursue the matter. I hope that the Government will give it some additional consideration as their plans materialise. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment 3 withdrawn. Amendment 4 Moved by
