Child Poverty Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord Freud (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 9 March 2010. It occurred during Debate on bills on Child Poverty Bill.
I thank the Minister for that clarification. Of course there is flexibility in adding on further partners, but the prescriptive nature of the partners that must be co-operated with is a top-down requirement that will just add to the costs of compliance and, I suspect, do very little to alleviate child poverty as it stands. With some regret I will withdraw this amendment, but it is on a less genuine basis than I was able to withdraw the last amendment. Amendment 41 withdrawn. Amendment 42 not moved.
