Is the right reverend Prelate aware that Article 4(1) of the framework directive states specifically that the characteristic in question must constitute, ""a genuine and determining occupational requirement, provided that the objective is legitimate and the requirement is proportionate"?"
What is wrong with putting that obligation expressly into the Bill so as to conform fully with European law?
