I have given the statistics and people can make their own judgment. The more important issue is to look at how often some of these powers are used. Powers on the statute book are often not used and although there seems to be a plethora how often they have been used and their purposes are rather more relevant. The consultation that we are having with agencies and departments will help to reveal that and guide us into taking matters forward.
