Amendment 159C 159C: After Clause 108, insert the following new Clause— "Duty of identification (1) When on duty and in uniform a police officer shall— (a) clearly display his or her identification numerals; and (b) when requested to do so by a member of the public, clearly state his or her name or identification number. (2) Failure to comply with subsection (1)(a) and (b) shall constitute an offence. (3) An offence under this section is liable— (a) on summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum, or to both; or (b) on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or to a fine, or to both."
