I am happy to take the point of the right hon. Member for Haltemprice and Howden (David Davis); he is absolutely correct. Control orders have a serious impact on people and their families. In one case, as we heard, a person who has been on a control order throughout this regime was previously detained in Belmarsh—detention, without a fair, evidentiary standard, of effectively nigh-on eight years.
