British Agriculture and Food Labelling

I strongly agree with my hon. Friend. It is a disgrace that the public sector procurement of British-produced food remains so low. In the ICM poll to which I referred earlier, when the public were asked whether they believed that food in hospitals, schools and the armed forces should be produced to British standards or whether it should be sourced at the cheapest cost to the taxpayer, 90 per cent. agreed that it should be produced to British standards.
