The noble Lord, Lord Greenway, is not in his accustomed place. If he were, he would be quoting from his committee’s report, which states: "““We asked the Secretary of State whether he felt the MPS should attract Parliamentary scrutiny; he replied ‘if the Committee wanted to suggest a process for Parliamentary scrutiny I would welcome it—I do not have any problem with that at all […] but we have nothing to fear and everything to welcome from there being scrutiny of the MPS’.””"
I am not sure that that completely meets the point that the Minister has been making this afternoon.
