Children and Young Persons Bill [Lords]

Our current consultation on guidance and regulations is in part addressing that particular issue about the suitability of accommodation and trying to set down what that means in practice. As I have said, in order to discharge this new duty, local authorities will have to conduct assessments. We will provide statutory guidance on the steps required by local authorities that will in particular emphasise the need for children's services to work with providers and all relevant partners, especially housing and planning services to maximise available accommodation within the area.
