I should like to correct the hon. Lady. The early-day motion to which she referred does not say that several Labour Members believe that the retrospection is ““deeply unfair””. It states:"““That this House is concerned at the retrospective effect of the vehicle excise duty changes announced in Budget 2008 to take effect from 2009; and asks the Government to reconsider.””"
I am a signatory to the motion. The hon. Lady is wrong to say that it used the words ““deeply unfair””, as they were not in the motion.
