In Grand Committee, I have no alternative but to withdraw my amendment, but I want to make a couple of points. The distinction between public and private provision is interesting. However, there may perhaps be a particular regarding allocations where a local authority is dependent on nominations to a housing association or uses its nominations, but the housing association has different allocation policies from the local authority. More particularly, what is the position where there has been a transfer of stock from a local authority? What is the position with an ALMO? That was clearly public provision which has become private without the tenants being involved in the process. That is a technical point, but the answer may be winging its way to the Minister. It had not occurred to me to ask that before.
