Energy Bill

Proceeding contribution from Alan Duncan (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 22 January 2008. It occurred during Debate on bills on Energy Bill.
I am happy to assure the hon. Gentleman that we do not intend to vote against the Bill. We are being responsible by saying that there remains an open-ended part of the calculation about investment in new nuclear power that needs to be clear. Clarity and honesty are essential if a proper decision is to be made. What decision does the hon. Gentleman think that the Government will take? The Government's view is that new nuclear development is an option that potential investors can take rather than a decision for the Government.
