Debate on the Address

Proceeding contribution from Stephen Pound (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 6 November 2007. It occurred during Queen's speech debate on Debate on the Address.
I appreciate that the right hon. Gentleman is not speaking ex cathedra, but, in his response to the hon. Member for Hammersmith and Fulham (Mr. Hands) on social housing as a proportion of new build in London, thanks to our enlightened Mayor, was he dissociating himself, if not his party, from the policy of including a social housing element in planning, which is the best way—and in many cases the only option that my constituents have—of getting on the housing ladder? Is the right hon. Gentleman for or against that social housing element?
