The Minister refers to the LGA. This is a small and pedantic point, but I just wonder whether, in this modern day and age, the Minister’s Department has held discussions with his colleagues in the Department for Communities and Local Government about the definition of local authorities. I note that amendment No. 6 still refers to what we all know now as a unitary authority as"““a district council for an area in relation to which it has the functions of a county council””."
It is surely about time that that definition, which has been around for a long time, went.
