Sustainable Communities Bill

Proceeding contribution from Phil Woolas (Labour) in the House of Commons on Friday, 19 January 2007. It occurred during Debate on bills on Sustainable Communities Bill.
I am sorry if the hon. Gentleman thinks that I am not embracing that enthusiasm. The Government should be commended for promoting a localist agenda. I always find it ironic that the hon. Gentleman criticises the Deputy Prime Minister for promoting a referendum and abiding by its result, and in the same breath accuses him of not consulting or ignoring consultation. I guess that that is just politics. I shall take one more intervention and then I must make progress.
