Electoral Administration Bill

I realise that the Minister is approaching the end of her speech, but may I ask her to consult on another matter? People become very frustrated when, having turned up at a polling station, they discover that they are not on the register. At that moment, they ought to be given a form and asked to fill it in and leave it there, or at least given a form to take away. If we could make people’s bad experiences at poling stations far less frequent, gradually over the years there would be a more positive response from those who currently feel that they are not wanted.
