I am grateful to the hon. Gentleman for his support, and I appreciate the work that he does in the House for pensioners. He asked several specific questions about the restoration of the earnings link. We aim to restore it in 2012, and that is partly a decision about affordability, but is also linked to the creation of the national pension savings scheme and low-cost personal accounts at that time. It is important to introduce those reforms together, which is why we propose 2012. The national pension savings scheme and the personal accounts will be run by private-sector providers.
Let me make it absolutely clear that the Government are not nationalising the pension savings industry, and have no intention of doing so. I hope that reassures the hon. Gentleman.
