I support my noble friend Earl Howe, particularly because of what my noble friend Lord Geddes said during the earlier debate on whether Clause 6 should stand part. There is less need for the signage as it is now an across-the-board ban. It would be preferable not to have to introduce primary legislation in order to withdraw the requirements of this provision. A sunset clause would achieve that. These signs are not things of great beauty and do not always add to the general décor and amenity of a property, whether it is an office building, a restaurant, a pub or a hotel. So I entirely support my noble friend.
