Health Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord Warner (Labour) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 9 May 2006. It occurred during Debate on bills and Committee proceeding on Health Bill.
I have great respect for the insurance industry; I am sure it makes its commercial decisions on the best information available to it, just as we, as a health department, are making the best decisions about the nation’s health on the evidence available to us. We have set out the evidence on second-hand smoke; we will continue to set it out and I do not think we will be deflected from doing so by the insurance industry or the noble Lord, Lord Monson. Clause 4 agreed to. Clause 5 [Vehicles]: [Amendment No. 26 had been retabled as Amendment No. 27A.] [Amendment No. 27 not moved.]
