Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Bill [HL]

moved Amendment No. 82:"Page 4, line 25, at end insert—" ““(   )   An individual commits an offence if he participates in a regulated activity without having been subject to vetting procedures as they existed prior to the commencement of this Act.”” The noble Baroness said: In moving Amendment No. 82, I should like to speak to Amendments Nos. 91, 97 and 101 as well. This is a simple cluster of amendments which differ only in technical respects. They are intended simply to close a potential loophole and ensure that all individuals participating in regulated activity have been vetted under previous arrangements or that they will be subject to the new vetting procedures as laid out in the Bill. They are intended to bridge the gap between the old legislation and the implementation of this Act. I beg to move.
