Clause 769 repeals various provisions of Part X of the Companies Act 1985. The noble Lord, Lord Hodgson, is right to say that the whole of Part X of the Companies Act 1985 would be repealed by Schedule 15 of the Bill, and that this clause is not essential. Its purpose is to clarify which sections of Part X of the Companies Act 1985 are being repealed, and not replaced. I am satisfied that it serves its purpose.
