Company Law Reform Bill [HL]

moved Amendment No. A198:"Page 445, line 14, leave out paragraph 1." The noble Lord said: We now deal with Schedule 4. Amendment No. A198, which again is produced on the advice of the Law Society, sorts out an unnecessary requirement. The paragraph purports to amend Section 97 of the Companies Act 1985, and in our view that is unnecessary as that section is repealed by Clause 881 and Schedule 15 to this Bill. Amendment No. A203, which is in this group, deals with a similar situation. Towards the end of Schedule 4, paragraph 46 purports to amend Section 720 of the Companies Act 1985, and it is unnecessary for the same reason. It is repealed by Clause 881 and Schedule 15 to this Bill. I beg to move.
