Company Law Reform Bill [HL]

moved Amendment No. A196C:"Page 349, line 22, at end insert ““or, for Northern Ireland, section 62 of the Industrial and Provident Societies Act (Northern Ireland) 1969 (c. 24 (N.I.))””" The noble Lord said: In moving this amendment I shall speak also to Amendments Nos. A196D, A196E and A196F. As the Committee will know, Part 35 of the Bill extends the Bill’s provisions to Northern Ireland. It is therefore necessary, when listing—as Clause 729 does—non-companies legislation to which the provisions of the Bill should apply, to ensure that reference is made to the equivalent legislation in Northern Ireland, which is often separate to that in Great Britain. The amendments insert the appropriate references here. In addition, the amendments make sure that Part 26 can apply in relation to all the functions of the Registrar of Companies under the Insolvency Act 1986 and the equivalent Northern Ireland legislation and correct the cross-reference to the Insolvency Act 2000. I beg to move. On Question, amendment agreed to.
