moved Amendment No. A196B:"After Clause 721, insert the following new clause—" ““PROVISIONS REQUIRING COPIES OF COURT ORDERS TO BE DELIVERED TO THE REGISTRAR    In the following provisions (which require an office copy of certain court orders to be delivered to the registrar) for ““an office copy”” substitute ““a copy””— section 425(3) of the Companies Act 1985 (c. 6) (order sanctioning compromise or arrangement); section 427(5) of that Act (order sanctioning compromise or arrangement); section 201(4) of the Insolvency Act 1986 (c. 45) and Article 166(4) of the Insolvency (Northern Ireland) Order 1989 (S.I.1989/2405 (N.I. 19)) (order deferring date at which dissolution of company after winding up is to take effect).”” The noble Lord said: In substituting the single word ““copy”” for the current phrase ““office copy”” the amendment ensures that electronic copies, as well as hard copies, will be capable of satisfying the relevant requirements. In certain circumstances that is an obligation under European law, and it is clearly sensible that we should take account of new technologies. Other provisions in the Bill of course ensure that appropriate authentication and certification requirements can be put in place if needed. I beg to move. On Question, amendment agreed to.
