My Lords, I thank the Minister for all her references to the marine Bill, which are helpful. We all look forward to it when it finally arrives in your Lordships’ House. Having a little to do with the estuary forum of the Torridge estuary—which sends me its notes on how it works and so on—I can see in microcosm what a complicated and involved issue it is. I agree with the Minister that in retrospect it would have been impossible to do it in anything less than what I am sure will be a fairly hefty Bill.
I thank the Minister for her helpful reply to my amendment. One or two communities in particular will now be encouraged to start talking to the commissioners in the light of such a positive reply, which is very helpful. In the mean time I beg leave to withdraw the amendment.
Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.
