I understand what the Minister has said, but I find it a little difficult when the noble Lord, Lord Hodgson, and I bring forward amendments that we have not dreamt up ourselves but over which quite serious consultation has been conducted by the Law Society with practitioners of company law, and the response we get from the Government is that they do not think they are necessary. I find the Minister’s response difficult when the people who have suggested these amendments—I claim no credit for them; the noble Lord, Lord Hodgson, has had similar amendments suggested to him by practitioners—have given these issues a lot of thought and have put forward their considered view.
