I was talking about the Bill to my hairdresser, who is pregnant. She spoke in support of exactly what the noble Baroness, Lady Walmsley, said in relation to her conversation with the noble Lord, Lord Northbourne. My hairdresser said she would dearly love to be able, after a few months, to work on Saturdays. She took a long time to build up her business. She works for a small business. Saturdays are hectic. She realises the strains that her pregnancy is putting on the business. I would support a proposal such as this and not losing entitlement to statutory maternity pay would be most welcome. There must be many other businesses, particularly where Saturdays and weekends are very busy.
