My Lords, briefly, I support what the noble Baroness, Lady Anelay, said. It is a pity that the amendment was not accepted, but there we are; that is the way of the world and one must accept it. On Question, Motion agreed to. Motion D 16 Clause 5, page 4, line 44, leave out ““must”” and insert ““may, if the individual so chooses,”” The Commons disagree to this amendment for the following reason— 16A Because the Commons consider it appropriate that a person applying for a designated document be required at the same time to apply to be entered in the Register and to have an ID Card issued to him 22 Clause 8, page 7, line 42, leave out ““must”” and insert ““may, if the individual so chooses,”” The Commons disagree to this amendment for the following reason— 22A Because the Commons consider it appropriate that a person applying for a designated document be required at the same time to apply to be entered in the Register and to have an ID Card issued to him.
