Emergency Workers (Protection) Bill

As the hon. Gentleman knows, a large proportion of visits to MPs’ surgeries are recreational, but do not involve insults or violence. I regard such visits as part of the job, and I am happy to deal with them all. I hope that the Minister will say whether the existing law covers all those offences, and also whether it should. If it does, why are they not being dealt with more seriously?
