Social Security

Proceeding contribution from Stephen Timms (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 16 February 2006. It occurred during Legislative debate on Social Security.
I can tell the hon. Gentleman that I will receive the announcement that I think he has been making about a significant change of thinking on Conservative policy in a much more friendly way than the hon. Member for Beverley and Holderness (Mr. Stuart). I welcome the change of heart that is being indicated. Can the hon. Member for Bury St. Edmunds (Mr. Ruffley) confirm that he thinks that focusing help on young people, lone parents and older people in the way that the new deal has is the right approach to helping people back into work?
