London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Bill

I, too, support the amendment, and I shall not be long-winded. I declare another interest, which came about only today. I have accepted the chairmanship of the Paralympic World Cup, which is an ongoing organisation started by Alan Pascoe, but there could be certain conflicts here. I also want to thank the Minister for the letters—one particularly fulsome one—which he wrote to me following the last sitting of this Committee. I support the amendment and have little to add to the advocacy of the two noble Lords who spoke before me. I feel that, once the ruling is in place, LOGOC will have the ability to call to ransom any small business—hotel, swimming pool and so on—which inadvertently uses a combination of the words and symbols which have been forbidden. I strongly feel, as I have done throughout since first reading the Bill, that this phrase should be reversed, as the amendment attempts to do.
