I accept the technical arguments that the Attorney-General has made in relation to the specific amendments to the specific clause. I was trying to raise a broader issue. It seemed to me that this was a convenient moment to raise the issue of an additional exemption and an exemption in relation to chapter 7 on directors’ liabilities for public interest or mutual interest companies. I and others will need to reflect whether there is an appropriate alternative way to carve out additional exemptions for directors of those companies. I accept that this is probably technically not the right place. When Amendment No. 223 is called, I will not move it, because I accept what the Attorney-General has already said on it. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment.
Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.
[Amendment No. 223 not moved.]
