Company Law Reform Bill [HL]

moved Amendment No. 115:"Page 51, line 40, leave out ““50”” and insert ““100””" The noble Lord said: Our amendment is a short deregulatory change, which we have been asked to make. We wish to raise the number of members that triggers a requirement for an index of members to be kept from 50 to 100. Fifty is not such a large number that it requires an index. Up to 100 members—and, for that matter, perhaps more than 100—could easily be examined by an ordinary shareholder without needing an index. It may be only a small piece of deregulation but we seek the Government’s view on this small step. I beg to move.
