We are united in wanting to ensure that any work done by authorised persons is done professionally, but I agree with my noble friend Lord Eccles. He has a very good point in questioning whether we are dealing with people who can be regarded as belonging to a profession or, indeed, being professional people. That is why both he and I welcome the Minister’s assurance that she will look carefully at the matter. The purpose of the amendments in the name of the noble Lord, Lord Goodhart, and in mine is to prescribe rules for the conduct of authorised persons that are in no way confined to conduct as if they were professional people. I think that the Minister has understood that, so I look forward to hearing further from her on Report but, in the mean time, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment.
Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.
