My Lords, I thank noble Lords who made such excellent contributions to the debate, bringing to it the extraordinary breadth of expertise for which this House is broadly recognised. I also compliment my fellow committee members, many of whom brought much more directly relevant experience to our deliberations than I was able to offer. I thank the Minister for his full response. Inevitably, as he said, because the report contains so many recommendations, and he has had so little time in which to speak, he has not been able today to respond to all the issues that we have identified, but we look forward to the Government’s comprehensive response in the near future.
I assure noble Lords, especially the noble Lord, Lord Jenkin, and the noble Baroness, Lady Byford, that the Science and Technology Committee will maintain a continuing watching brief on this issue. Indeed, I hope that everyone who carries responsibility for all aspects of the security and health of this nation will maintain such a brief.
