National Lottery Bill

Proceeding contribution from Mark Field (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 19 January 2006. It occurred during Debate on bills on National Lottery Bill.
The hon. Gentleman will be glad that I am here to protect the honour of my right hon. Friend the Member for Witney (Mr. Cameron). The hon. Gentleman has rightly quoted the transcript, but my right hon. Friend continued his remarks to Mr. Naughtie on the ““Today”” programme by saying:"““Jim, I can’t pre-judge it because I’m having a meeting with the Prince’s Trust and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and the National Union of Teachers are coming in””." The lottery was one of a number of options that my right hon. Friend put forward in that interview for funding the national school leaver programme. No commitment has been made that contradicts our proposals in new clause 2.
