Gentleman has rightly quoted the transcript, but my right hon. Friend continued his remarks to Mr. Naughtie on the ““Today”” programme by saying:"““Jim, I can’t pre-judge it because I’m having a meeting with the Prince’s Trust and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and the National Union of Teachers are coming in””."
The lottery was one of a number of options that my right hon. Friend put forward in that interview for funding the national school leaver programme. No commitment has been made that contradicts our proposals in new clause 2.
