Compensation Bill [HL]

Proceeding contribution from Lord Lucas (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 20 December 2005. It occurred during Debate on bills and Committee proceeding on Compensation Bill [HL].
I am very much hoping that the Minister does not accept the amendment. It is important that doctors who stop at accident sites should be able to do so without risking their professional insurance status, which many of them fear that they do at the moment. At least they have done over the past few years; I cannot say that I have checked it recently. This seems to me to be an ideal state of affairs, as set out in Clause 1, dealing with professionals who provide their professional advice in severely unprofessional circumstances.
