Health Bill

Proceeding contribution from Patricia Hewitt (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 29 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bills on Health Bill.
I want to finish this point. I have also made it clear that we intend to monitor the impact of the ban, with the exceptions, from day one and to complete that review within three years. As I said, the Bill provides for a complete ban, but exceptions can be made by regulation. If, in the light of that review and monitoring, the Government and Parliament decide that they no longer want some or all of those exceptions, it will not require further primary legislation. It would be a simple thing to change.
