Consumer Credit Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord De Mauley (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 16 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bills and Committee proceeding on Consumer Credit Bill.
The Minister says that we need to consider the matters to which he referred carefully; I suggest that we need to do that before we pass the Bill. I also observe that it is inconsistent to reject the amendment while refusing to accept the amendment in the area of retrospective application, as the Government did. Having said that, for the moment, I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. Clauses 62 to 65 agreed to.
