Consumer Credit Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord De Mauley (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 16 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bills and Committee proceeding on Consumer Credit Bill.
I hope I gave the impression that we recognise the advantages of the intermediate sanctions, which are, of course, an improvement over a single sanction of removal of a licence. I also hope that I have explained our concerns about the use of the word dissatisfied, in particular. While we are happy to withdraw the amendment in Grand Committee, we reserve our right to come back at Report. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. Clause 38 agreed to. Clauses 39 to 42 agreed to.
