Terrorism Bill

Proceeding contribution from David Winnick (Labour) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 9 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bills on Terrorism Bill.
How could I possibly disagree with that? I am pleased that the hon. Gentleman has made the point, though. We have been told that every seven days the matter will be submitted to a senior judge. I said that it should go before a High Court judge, and I am glad that the Home Secretary has agreed to my suggestion, but in my view not even that constitutes sufficient protection, or sufficient justification for the 90-day provision.
