Racial and Religious Hatred Bill

Proceeding contribution from Bishop of Oxford in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 8 November 2005. It occurred during Debate on bills on Racial and Religious Hatred Bill.
My Lords, before the noble Lord sits down, I would like to reiterate that I agree with him in principle. Would he not agree that, although what he said applies to paragraph (a) of the new clause, paragraph (b), which states that,"““any distinct offence of disturbing a religious service or religious devotions””," could not be simply be abolished? Much wider consultation with people of other faiths would be required to consider if it should remain in some amended form.
