My Lords, although I do not think that anyone would accuse either the noble Lord, Lord Avebury, or the noble Lord, Lord Lester, of being excessively brief in their remarks, they said absolutely nothing about either subsections (b) or (c) of their amendment, which would abolish a ““distinct offence””, whatever that may mean,"““of disturbing a religious service””"
and a,"““religious offence of striking a person””—"
whatever that phrase may mean.
