Charities Bill [HL]

Before the noble Baroness sits down, may I reassure her that in my view her colleagues in Scotland are right. That is because the wording of the Scottish Act is radically different from the wording of this Bill. It was pressed upon me that it might assist our deliberations to introduce some of the Scottish wording around this very issue. However, I rejected that out of hand because in this instance I believe that the Scots have got it plumb wrong and have introduced a series of measures which are worthy of the commentary made by the noble Baroness; but they have no bearing on this amendment.
