I have some sympathy with the amendment moved by the noble and gallant Lord and supported by the noble Lord, Lord Phillips. We went through this in some detail in the previous Committee and I suspect that the Minister’s speaking note will tell him that the Government believe that the Armed Forces’ charities will always be included for charitable purposes and refer us to Clause 2(2)(l), which mentions,"““any other purposes within””,"
the subsection. If that is his speaking note, it is a rather unheroic response and I am inclined to support the noble and gallant Lord if the Government cannot do better than that, but I look forward to hearing from the Minister.
